project overview
Following concerns around misinformation during the previous U.S. election, Facebook wanted to help people better understand the steps it was taking to fight misinformation and rebuild trust in the platform. As Lead Designer and Illustrator, I helped turn complex and abstract ideas into simple visual stories. I developed a visual direction that felt engaging, approachable, and trustworthy—making complicated information easier to understand.

Many of the concepts we needed to communicate didn’t have an obvious visual representation. Illustration helped transform abstract ideas into clear, approachable stories people could quickly understand.
When COVID-19 brought a new wave of misinformation, Facebook applied many of the same tools developed around elections to help address false information about the pandemic. We extended the visual language from the election campaign to tell this new story—creating a familiar, cohesive system while introducing new illustrations and concepts specific to COVID-19.
